Eco-Beauty Organics is a woman owned company and was founded in 2002 by Luise Peyton, a mother and former pediatric nurse (Germany). The founders love and fascination of herbs and aromatic plants and her interest in wholistic health, beauty and body care concepts are rooted in her childhood. As a native of Germany she was raised in a small village in the beautiful countryside of Northern Bavaria. Families had lived there for many generations and people felt deeply connected with their homeland, surrounding forests and plants. Herbs and wild flowers grew in rich abundances and played and important role in peoples life. They were used in cooking, home made remedies, beauty and body care as well as in cultural and spiritual life. From early childhood Luise developed a deep trust in these wonderful plants and experienced many times their healing power. A severe environmental accident that made worldwide news in 1976 prompted her interest in cosmetic ingredients: a chemical manufacturing plant in Seveso, Northern Italy, exploded and released toxic clouds into the surrounding area, detrimentally affecting the local population and environment. It was later discovered that many of the chemicals were produced for the cosmetic industry. This was a wake-up call for many Europeans, birthing a new trend in natural cosmetic products.
